Diana graduated from UIUC with a BS in Psychology and a Minor in Business. While studying at UIUC, she was a member of 3Spot Dance Troupe, a registered student organization specializing in many styles of dance, as well as Dance 2XS, an international hip hop dance group. After graduating from UIUC, she was a principal dancer from 2011-2013 with Rodriguez Dance Theatre, a modern dance company located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Diana is very excited to continue her dance training under Kate Jablonski and be a part of The Kate Jablonski Statement (KJS). She has had many performance opportunities with KJS, including Dance Chicago, Dance Chicago’s Dances from the Heart, The Xperience with Tyce Diorio, and Kate’s productions, Tabula Rasa (2014), Confidential (2015), and Reflections (2016).
Outside of dancing for KJS, Diana is a yoga instructor at CorePower Yoga in La Grange and a dance instructor at Wings Dance Studio in Lockport. Being on KJS allows Diana to pursue her passion of dancing and performing, while still offering her the flexibility to share her love of yoga and dance with others. Diana has found physical, mental, and spiritual happiness in her own yoga practice, and she aspires to do the same for others as a yoga instructor. Diana feels incredibly grateful to live a life where she can dedicate her time to both yoga and dance, and she is thrilled to continue to grow as a dancer in her fourth season with the Kate Jablonski Statement.
Nicole has been performing and choreographing from a young age. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, she had the opportunity to dance with Salt Creek Ballet where she performed as various characters in The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake, Carnival of the Animals, and “Tribute to…”
When entering high school, Nicole began to encompass on a journey of combining her classical training with the fundamentals of contemporary under the wings of many wonderful choreographers such as So You Think You Can Dance’s own Sonya Tayeh, Brooke Pierotti, and her directors, Gil Mata, Sam Renzetti, and Sarah Burney at Xtreme Dance Force. Within her last year of high school, Nicole had the opportunity of creating and directing “Reverie”, a dance production performed by her Orchesis Team. Immediately following her move to Chicago, Nicole held the position of Rehearsal Director for Alluvion Dance Chicago’s 2015-2016 season. Nicole also directed and choreographed a short dance film titled ‘Id’ that premiered in February of 2016, and is in the process of creating more dance films dealing with the emotional, social, and political issues we deal with every day. Over the summer of 2016, Nicole participated in the Elite Choreographic Initiative with River North and Visceral Dance Chicago where she trained with past and existing company members.
This is Nicole’s first year dance with The Kate Jablonski Statement and is thrilled to be working with all these wonderfully talented ladies!
Along with taking classes in ballet and jazz at Columbia, Rachel was also on the college’s dance team for two years. The team performed at campus events, Chicago parades, and at the Manifest Urban Arts Festival. Rachel is thrilled to have been given this wonderful opportunity to grow as a dancer and an artist under the direction of Kate Jablonski and alongside the other talented company members. She plans to pursue a career composing music for choir, dance, film and television, and additionally, becoming a dance teacher for children.
Currently, Miranda dances on the College of DuPage Dance team, where she is working to earn her Associate degree in Fine Art. This is her first year with the Statement and she could not be more happy and grateful. Her main goals are to gain and share knowledge about dance as well as dance with such amazing talented people.
Upon graduating from high school in 2013, Cassie has been pursuing a degree in Communication as well as Public Relations and Advertising at DePaul University in Chicago. She hopes to work in Public Relations for television.
After studying abroad in London, Cassie is excited to return to dancing with The Kate Jablonski Statement and looking forward to her next adventure.
